In addition to my illustrious softball career, I also signed up for softball and we had our first game last week. To put it mildly, we blow. We lost that first game by over 15 runs with at least two of our girls either not being able to count three strikes or not being born in America where you know there aren't four. Today I got an email from our team captain telling me to "call me, I have to talk to you about something." I was worried that he had found this blog or something.

So I called, and he did indeed have something important to tell me.

"You know the kid Jason on our team? Last night he took his own life."

I wasn't really sure what to say; the team captain sounded pretty distraught. So I just said the first thing that came to mind.

"...man. We don't suck that bad."
